Foreign Language Film

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
-The Princess Bride (1987)

Heavily accented English (I'm looking at you, Billy Elliot) does not count in this category.

Carol's pick: Children of Heaven (1997) - A sweet and touching story.

Carol's other pick: Life is Beautiful (1997) - Yes, it is.

  3. Not precisely a foreign language film, but Cape of Good Hope is an excellent South African film. Also The Closet, a hilarious French comedy.

  6. Paris, je t'aime (2006) Twenty filmmakers have five minutes each to weave a single "narrative" commenting on their love - Paris. The transitions between the 20 moments begin with the last shot of the previous film and ends with the first shot of the following film. They are all totally unique.

  7. Babbette's Feast is a remarkable film. Could also make the "food category"
